Flowers

There's a nice park in Toronto called Allan Gardens. To quote a page on the City of Toronto's web site:

"The Conservatory dates back to 1858 when prominent local politician George Allan offered the Toronto Horticultural Society a five-acre parcel of land to develop a garden. In 1864, the City of Toronto purchased the surrounding lands from Mr Allan, which was then released to the Horticultural Society on the condition that the grounds be publicly accessible and free of charge."

Once when I was staying in Toronto on Jarvis Street, I walked down to the gardens with my Kindle and my camera and enjoyed several hours there. The Allan Gardens gallery shows some images from that day.

The other galleries contain some flower images taken with my infrared camera, and some macros taken at the orchid shows that the London Orchid Society put on. They open it up to photographers and artists for a few hours generally on the Sunday morning so that we can put our equipment up close to the flowers without blocking the view of other visitors that only want to enjoy them.
